Written by a 7 year old as a way to cope with bullying, and brought to life by myself, CHESS follows the tale of a young girl who finds herself suddenly thrust into a foreign land called "Newland" after receiving a mystical tome from her mother. In her search for a way back home, she encounters Toby and his sister Kate. Together, they must reassemble the key to the rainbow bridges, shattered by the evil and heartless, Black Queen.
There are over 23 chapters already written and posted here at http://tinytales.net . In fact, she hasn't even FINISHED writing it!
We successfully sold more copies than anticipated at this year's Anime Expo in Los Angeles. If all goes well, next year will bring AT LEAST the second issue to Artist Alley. But we need your help.
Money is a tough commodity to come by, believe me I know. But word of mouth is almost just as valuable. Stop by the kickstarter and check it out. If you can't back us, please at least share it and help spread the word. This girl and her family have some amazing things in the works, and I am excited to see word of CHESS spread like wildfire.

Omg I want these! Like... so many of them!

Last night I was working on some traditional art practice now that I have some markers (purchased at Anime Expo last week).

It was an interesting and fun experience, but the fine brush wasn't small enough for the scales. I could barely get the in there without excess bleeding. Didn't want to take a chance with the yellow tint to it. But OMG was it fun! I really love how they turned out! Part of me wants to do traditional commissions but am not sure. Working traditionally is nice for me because there's no external pressure for it to be perfect. I can do what I want to do with it. But once someone is paying me for something, I feel this crushing pressure to do it perfectly. With digital it is easier to change something if they want it changed.
I dunno. I will figure it out some day.

Back from Anime Expo 2014
Will be posting pictures within a day or two over on my FaceBookPage. Omg there are so many! lol. But I had an absolute blast. Just... I am crazy tired. lol.
Hubs is still at work. Kids went to bed great. Now I am sitting here staring at my monitor and trying to decide what to do as I wait for my tea to cool... What is this silence?

A commission I just finished up. Have a sale going on over on DeviantArt and this was the first in the cell-shade category I'd been hired to do. I REALLY like how this turned out despite the simplicity. Maybe it was the shading. Maybe it was the modern clothing (a refreshing change). Regardless of what though, I like this one.

Diana - Warpath
Yet ANOTHER DC Fan art but this time a heroine.
Actually completed this one last week and I just forgot to upload it.
Riddle Me This
Very VERY excited about how this one turned out! Might just be my love of green, but yes, I love this one! Funny thing is that at the beginning of the initial sketch pose phase, I was gonna do batman. But the moment I made the profile head smile, I knew this HAD to be Edward!

Steampunk Joker - Nighty Night
Happy Friday the 13th! Unfortunately, you have just been drugged by The Joker. Good luck!
This was fun to work on. I actually got some rest last night (eventually) and woke up refreshed.
I am pretty happy with how this turned out given I just kept the pencils without lining like I did for Harley. Because of the lighting though, his lips look green-brown instead of the dark red I'd made them originally. But overall, VERY happy with my second attempt at this soft shading method. Big thumbs up!
Cases, clocks, and prints are up on Society6!
UPDATED MY BLOG!!
Okay. I admit that this blog has been SEVERELY neglected. Apologies for that. In an attempt to adjust to all of the many media sharing sites available, I had to cut some out. But I am adjusting (even if slowly) so I am hoping I can turn the neglect around.
Lots of news though. Not only have I finished my first big project but the comic I created alongside the awesome people at Tiny Tales will be on sale at our shared table during this years AnimeExpo in LA, CA! I am so very excited! Not only my first visit to CA, but it will be my VERY FIRST convention... EVER! Will be there the entire 3 days and in CA for an entire week! If you stumble on this and plan on attending this year, we'll be located here:
I would LOVE to meet you! (Honestly, I love meeting ANYONE. I'm like a puppy that way.)
I will also (provided the funds come together) be selling 11x17 prints of my newest (and most favorite) piece, Steampunk Harley Pin-up! It's been around 5 months since I completed the original, and I think I have DEFINITELY stepped it up a notch since then. Would you agree?
I also have a Society 6 so if you can't make it out there but would still love to have Harley close by, give my page a visit! Lots of options and frankly - I kid you not - my overly excited self wishes I could buy EVERY. SINGLE. ITEM. Seriously... I want a ROOM of her.
